Game Review
In a surprising turn of events in Serie A, Parma secured a narrow 1-0 victory over AC Milan at the San Siro on Sunday, February 22, 2026. The match was largely dominated by AC Milan in terms of possession and attempts, but it was Parma's resilience and a late strike from Mariano Troilo that decided the outcome. The game was tightly contested, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances in the first half. AC Milan, despite being the favorites, failed to capitalize on their home advantage. The match's pivotal moment came in the 80th minute when Mariano Troilo found the back of the net, delivering a crucial goal for Parma. This goal was enough to secure all three points for the visitors. AC Milan's manager made several substitutions in an attempt to change the game's dynamics, bringing on Ardon Jashari, Zachary Athekame, Niclas Fullkrug, Strahinja Pavlović, and Christopher Nkunku. However, these changes did not yield the desired effect as Milan struggled to break down a well-organized Parma defense. Parma's head coach also made tactical adjustments, introducing Jacob Ondrejka, Oliver Sørensen, Hans Nicolussi Caviglia, and Nahuell Estévez to maintain their defensive solidity and counter-attacking threat. This result is a significant setback for AC Milan, who were looking to consolidate their position in the upper echelons of the Serie A table. For Parma, the victory provides a much-needed boost in their quest to climb the standings and avoid relegation battles. Post-match reactions highlighted the frustration within the AC Milan camp, as they were unable to convert their dominance into goals. Meanwhile, Parma's camp celebrated a well-executed game plan that paid off handsomely. Overall, this match serves as a reminder of the unpredictability of football, where even the underdogs can triumph with determination and strategic execution.

What is GAP?
What is Plus Minus Goals (G±)?
Plus Minus Goals (G±) is the average goal difference per game while the player was on the pitch. A value above 0 indicates that the team rather wins, a value below 0 means his team concedes more goals than they score when the player is on the pitch. As an example, if the player's team is winning 3:1 the goal difference is +2, if the player's team is loosing 0:1, the goal difference is -1. It is a pure metric which is barely adjusted for circumstances to purely show the goal difference.
What is GAP?
GAP (Game Advantage Percentage) shows the percentage gap between a player and the average league player. It answers the question: How much does a player improve or worsen a team's performance? It is based on high level game data with a focus on the impact on the goal difference (G±) from the last 50 games of a player. Besides that, GAP goes further and considers game context by involving data from the player and all other players who are at the same time on the pitch, no matter if teammates or opponents. Football GAP - the individual metric for team players.
